All about Ann Cory

Ann Cory is an accomplished author and writes urban fantasy, paranormal, shape - shifters, vampires, fantasy, alternative, time travel, and BDSM, along with historical and contemporary to mix it up a bit.
When she isn't concocting a magical seduction story, she writes poetry, reads, writes horror under a different name, and spends time with her husband and son playing games or watching movies. She also enjoys interior decorating, cooking complex meals, and making wine.
Ann also has a bit of a confetti fetish and is known to bring buckets of the stuff to parties. Luckily, she also brings along her confetti cleaning crew - all males and all naked. Yes, clean up can be fun!
How Ann Cory got into Erotic Romance?
Ann wanted to encourage women to celebrate their fantasies and sexuality. To give them an outlet and embrace their feminine desires.
The Scoop!
At this time Ann has a number of projects in the works. She tends to work on several stories at once rather than one at a time. Her mind is always on another story while writing, which can cause conflict, but somehow seems to work for her.

INTERVIEW
The Sensible Questions:
- 1.How have your life experiences affected your writing?
- I believe all my experiences make their way into my stories at one time or another. There is always a little piece of me in my characters. Often times a theme will work its way into many different stories - usually whatever I'm going through at the time.
- 2.Which of your characters is your favourite, and why?
- This is tough. I enjoy the raw sexuality of Savannah from Lust Detector and how she interacted with the young cop, Alec. That was a definite fantasy story and my first older woman/younger man story. At the same time I connect with Aubrey from Vows of a Vampire and will always have a thing for Varick.
- 3.What heat level do you enjoy writing most, and why?
- I like to write in all different heat levels. It depends on the characters and direction of the story. Lust Detector needed more heat than say, Blue Magic. For me it just depends on how it fits with the story. An overtly shy character likely won't have a heavy BDSM scene in my books, and is the same for a highly sexual character won't have too tame a scene.
- 4.What authors have influenced you most (not necessarily in the romance genre)?
- I've been influenced by Stephen King, Jane Austen, Shakespeare, Tolkien, Christine Feehan, Sylvia Day, Gena Showalter, and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
- 5.Which comes to you first when you write, the basic premise of the plot, or the characters?
- I honestly can't write a story until I have a title. For me it sets off the imagination and I just let the muse loose after that. Without a title I stare at a blank screen and pull my hair out.
- 6.What is the biggest lesson that you've learned since you began writing?
- To stay true to myself and realize that a unique voice is an asset, not a hindrance.
- 7.Describe your writing space.
- Oh my, I love my office! I've decorated it and made it into a cozy, creative environment. It's my favorite room in the entire house and inspires me. The walls are a beautiful butterscotch color that I sponge painted, the desk and furniture is all dark wood, I have many plants and inspiring pictures all over as well.
The Naughty Questions:
- How many toys do you have in your toy-box? (and we don't mean Barbie dolls!)
- Not enough! I continue to add to it.
- What or who does your ideal man look like?
- Dark hair, a nice build, expressive eyes, a warm smile, and strong hands will catch my attention every time.

EXCERPT:
Savannah Scott pulled her cherry red Ferrari over the moment she noticed the flashing lights. With her manicured fingernails, she unfastened the top two buttons of her tight knit shirt. Low enough to show off her lacy red push - up bra. In hurried grace, she checked her lipstick and smoothed a hand over her perfectly coifed hair. From the mirror, she gazed longingly as Officer Downs sidled up to her car, dressed in his fitted uniform, his powerful legs well concealed. With a deep breath she put the window down, offering a demure look.
"Afternoon, Officer."
He nodded, face devoid of any emotion. "Ms Scott."
Goose bumps spilled along her skin at the close proximity of his cock, restrained tightly inside his pants, just beyond her door.
Reaching up, he removed his sunglasses, unleashing his smoldering brown eyes. Eyes she imagined undressed her every time they had one of their confrontations. And to her delight, there'd been many.
Voice full of sweetness, she prompted him for conversation. "Pleasant day for a drive, don't you think, Officer?"
He stroked the back of his neck, and switched the weight of his foot, swinging his groin closer in her direction. The gesture alone sent a fresh batch of goose bumps along her skin.
"Yes, it is. But not above the speed limit," he added huskily. "We both know it's thirty - five miles per hour through here."
If her eyes didn't deceive her, she'd sworn his bulge grew bigger.
From his shirt pocket he pulled out a pad and pen. This would be the tenth ticket she owned with his name scrawled on it. She loved everything about his signature. Strong and stately, the way she pictured him naked.
"I can appreciate your need to cool down, ma'am, but this makes the third time I've pulled you over in a week."
While her neighbors thought a woman of her age should drive something more low - key, she preferred things hard and fast. "Well, you know what they say. Third times a charm." To prove the charm expression, she batted her eyelashes. The look on his face said he wasn't buying it, so she switched tactics. "No, you're right, Officer. I've definitely learned my lesson. You could always get me off with a warning."
His eyes widened. "Pardon me?"
Savannah feigned innocent and giggled. "I meant, let me off with a warning."
Head raised, he looked around, sighing deeply. The warm breeze rustled his black hair. Midnight black. Black as oil.
"You really need to watch your speed, ma'am. I'd hate to take your license away from you."
Bottom lip out, she nodded her head. "Oh, I understand, Officer."
Her mind raced as he tapped the paper with his pen. She could easily reach out and unzip his pants. Slip her hand inside and feel the length and width of his erection. Stroke him to a climax right then and there.

EXCERPT:
Samantha Jensen walked to the edge of the diving board. The water in the pool looked impossibly blue. Almost cerulean in colour. It called to her. Begged her to slip into its liquid paradise and escape the record high temperatures of the afternoon. The Santa Ana winds had picked up that morning and, mixed with the mid - summer humidity, made it hotter than usual. Unable to resist, she dove in headfirst. Into the blue.
The surge of water against her breasts gave her instant relief. While far from cool, it offered a momentary respite. She moved her body like a mermaid along the bottom and admired the intricate tile work. Above she watched the water ripple. Gold rays from the sun splashed the surface like splotches of paint. So peaceful. So serene. She'd always felt safe in the blue. It was a place she went in her mind as a child. No one bothered her there.
No one made her play favourites. No one else was allowed in.
This place wasn't her scene. But it was the need for change that had brought her here.
Aware she couldn't stay under any longer, she pumped her legs.
Samantha came up for air and treaded water. Her arms and legs looked distorted beneath her as they moved in slow motion. She blinked away the water from her eyes and took in the scene around her. Miles of tanned and toned bodies in barely - there swimsuits.
Gorgeous men and women who looked ready for a photo shoot rather than a pool party.
With a sigh of envy, she eyed one woman in a pristine white bikini, and couldn't help but admire her sleek tummy. Sure, she'd love to look that hot in a two - piece, but if it meant hours of excruciating crunches and giving up margaritas, then the effort hardly seemed worth it.
Her gaze averted to a tall, somewhat interesting blond. Not really her type, but he was easy on the eyes. As he moved out of her view, she was met with the sight of a bronze - skinned hottie in a slim - fitting pair of swim trunks. She sucked in her breath and felt the moisture gather between her thighs. Where had he been all her life?

EXCERPT:
A combination of smells caught her attention, dark aromas she could almost taste. Bourbon. Blood. Sex. Musk. A lustful hunger started in the pit of her stomach.
The light continued to flash. On. Off. Aubrey's arms rested at her sides and she leaned her head back. Invisible lips brushed along her ear with whispered promises to slake her rapacious appetite. Her body lifted up out of the car. She moved her lips to ask questions but her words were inaudible. The voices soothed her. They promised safety. Someone cared for her greatly and waited for her arrival. Aubrey wondered if they meant her mother.
Fingers combed through her hair and swept along the slope of her neck. Lips teased along her flesh, the heat from their breath penetrating her skin. More fingers slid along her legs, higher toward her inner thighs. The movements promised fulfilled desires, and mind - numbing orgasms. Despite her inability to see anything or anyone, she parted her legs, groaning as fingertips prodded beneath her panties and taunted her clit. Hands tight around the steering wheel she grinded her hips until her body shuddered.
As she came down from the euphoric high, faint voices floated around her head.
He waits for you.
The flashing red light stopped and the sudden blackout rendered her blind. Her body moved through the darkness on a chariot of invisible arms, her feet dangling beneath her, unmoving, unfeeling. Had she been in an accident? Was she dead?
A crimson red glow came into view, creating a tunnel that looked to stretch forever. Aubrey glanced behind her, unnerved to find the tunnel stretched just as long the other direction. Whatever hands had carried her had disappeared. Her feet touched the ground and she teetered a few moments until she regained her balance. Seeing no other choice, she continued on.
After several minutes of walking into nothingness, a door opened. Aubrey stepped into a blood - red room lit with hundreds of candles. Immediately the amber glow soothed her and prompted her all the way inside. Fascinated, she could only stare at her surroundings. Elegant glass vases filled with roses hung from the blackened stonewalls. Sensual baroque music played faintly in the background and beckoned her forward.
"Where am I?" She was startled to hear the sound of her own voice as it echoed off the walls.
"Welcome."
Aubrey looked around for the owner of the feminine voice, but didn't see anyone.
"Excuse me, wh - what am I doing here?"
"He sent for you. I will let him know of your arrival. Please, make yourself comfortable and someone will bring you a drink."
Who was this mysterious he everyone kept mentioning? "Wait, who sent for me?"
"Varick."
The name hung in the air, as mystifying as the room itself.
A contoured chaise lounge sat in the middle of the room, surrounded by transparent curtains held open by red ropes. It looked luxurious. Something fit for a queen. She walked toward it and ran her fingers along the fabric. Velvet. Sinful. The feel of the texture against her flesh nearly brought her to another orgasm. Nothing about the night made sense. Since the moment she walked in on Gil, she felt as though the rest of the evening took place, as she remained stuck in a dreamy haze. Perhaps this Varick person would help her make sense of things.
She tested his name out on her tongue. Varick. A liquid sigh escaped her throat as a thrill fluttered low in her belly. How was it possible her body instantly became aroused at the thoughts of a man she'd never met before?
