The Set Up

by J.P. Bowie The Set Up

When John White Eagle, a movie extra, agrees to some covert sex with Greg Mathis, the movie's star, he's not at all prepared for the repercussions. Alone in a motel room – apart from a dead body – he finds himself to be the only suspect, but a sympathetic cop, Mark Rossi, agrees to help him clear his name.

The two men quickly discover a mutual attraction, a situation that is thrown into jeopardy when some incriminating evidence points to John's guilt. John persuades Mark to let him confront the move star face to face in order to extract a confession from him, but John's plan goes wrong.

Will he be the next to die, or can Mark reach him in time to save him, and their relationship?

Sex, lies and murder in Hollywood

As an avid reader of J.P. Bowie's books, and having just finished My Vampire Lover, I was eager to read another from this prolific writer. The Set Up sure does not disappoint! A hot story, hotter men and a plot with a surprise in every chapter.
John White Eagle, a movie extra with a unique gift for taking his lover to the highest level of sensuality, finds himself in a complex relationship with the star of the movie, Greg Mathis.
But things go awry when after a bout of sex with Mathis, he wakes up in a motel room alone, apart from a dead body in the bathroom, and the police outside ready to make an arrest.
Fortunately for John, the arresting detective, Mark Rossi, believes in John's innocence, and the two set out to find the real murderer - and along the way find themselves in a romantic and highly erotic affair.
I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this smoothly written and often humorous story. The characters are strongly drawn, and completely believable. Kudos to the author - I'm ready for the next one!
