Zac Alben loved his life in Cattle Valley until he made the ultimate mistake and introduced his partner in life, Terry, to his on-the-job partner, Jakob. He hoped the two men would hit it off, but he had no idea the meeting would forever change his life.
Scarred and broken, Zac shows the facade of a man on the mend. He returns to work, joins the community in celebrating Cattle Valley Days and wakes nightly in a cold sweat.
Pushed away at every turn, Jakob Cox still doesn’t know what happened the night Zac nearly lost his life. Despite Zac’s cold shoulder, Jakob takes it upon himself to drag the man he loves back into the land of the living.

Customer ReviewsReview from Dark Diva ReviewsReviewed by KathyNot always an easy story...Scarred by Carol Lynne definitely rates high on my favourite Cattle Valley as well as Carol Lynne story. The woman sure knows how to write and how to get, and keep, the reader’s attention fully on the story...Read the full review atOctober 2010Emotionally ChargedReviewed by Anonymous
This story was a completely enthralling look at what depression can do to a person and those that love him/her. It was touching, and hot, and made me want to cry. I would highly recommend it.September 2010Review from Literary Nymphs ReviewsReviewed by Mystical NymphWhat sets this series release apart from the others is the seriousness of its subject matter so be aware, you may need to keep a box of tissues handy...The crux is that this Cattle Valley release is a love story, but it’s also much more so if you’re expecting a lighthearted piece of fluff, this serious minded novella isn’t for you...this well-written story is one you’ll enjoy.
